Greetings from the IMG Baseball Academy,
The number 60 is synonymous with baseball because of Babe Ruth. He was the first player to hit 60 home runs in one season (1927), setting a record which stood until 1961.
For the 2010 IMG Wood Bat League presented by Under Armour (“The Wood Bat”), the number 60 is also very significant. It marks the halfway point to our goal of 120 select high school varsity players. It is also the time when we begin to track enrollment by position, so as not to overload on any one position. We have reached that milestone!
To date "March 23, 2010", 60 players representing 19 states and 4 countries have accepted our invitation and registered. If you are one of those, congratulations and welcome to the premiere high school summer wood bat league in the country!
If you have not registered, then please consider the single fact that separates “The Wood Bat” from every other summer high school program……TRAINING! The sad reality is that summer baseball has become all about playing games without any workouts or training. Do you want to just play games or would you like to spend 7 weeks in the batting cage, bullpen, defensive drills, mental and physical conditioning, and still play more than 25 games? Our players reach their potential by developing in a comprehensive environment (proven ratio of games to training sessions is 50:50) that includes games, practices, and strength/speed workouts. The physical and mental training is unmatched at the IMG Performance Institute (IPI) and will help players gain strength and speed, while increasing confidence and mental toughness.
There are only 60 openings left in the 2010 IMG Wood Bat League presented by Under Armour. If you are passionate about baseball and have the desire to improve your game, I hope that you will consider this incredible opportunity and join us this summer.
For more information please feel free to email us and/or visit this page.
We hope to hear from you soon!
