Does the ReactionPro fill a need?
ReactionPro - The Heirarchy of Needs
by ReactionPro®
Physical Needs
Physical activity is the foundation of the
ReactionPro® training program. Though designed to specifically target reactions/reflexes, our training system automatically improves an individual’s physical condition by requiring constant activity throughout their particular training regimen including cardio, balance, strength and tone. And unlike other physical fitness programs,
ReactionPro® provides the opportunity to “get in shape” in an enjoyable/entertaining format.
Safety Needs
We at
ReactionPro® understand that physical activity at all levels is inherently hazardous and have designed our training program in such a manner as to address the well being of our trainees. We not only promote safe practices during training but also take pride in the fact that training with
ReactionPro® improves the safety of the player not only as a result of better physical conditioning but, more importantly, through improved skills specific to their sport. How? Over the years many players have sustained serious injury when struck by balls moving at high speeds and some of these injuries could have been at avoided if the player had been able to “react” more quickly and get a glove up to at least somewhat deflect the ball. Several years ago Bryce Florie, a pitcher for the Red Sox, was struck in the face by a line drive ending his career in baseball. Slow motion film of the play shows that although he was reacting to the ball his reflexes were not quick enough to prevent the injury. Even partial blocking of the ball might have reduced his injuries.
Social Needs
Though
ReactionPro® provides excellent training on an individual basis, multi player training is an integral aspect of our program. Simply put, the more realistic the training the better the on field results and one of the most important results of having several individuals training at the same time is the natural bonding that occurs during such exciting and intense activity. In short, healthy competition is highly beneficial to the individual as well as the group as a whole.
Self Esteem
An athlete’s self esteem is crucial to effective performance on the field. The obvious results of an athlete not feeling good about themselves become quite apparent during play and emerge as a lack luster, lazy effort during both practice and on field activities. The best antidote is to build a player’s confidence through quality positive training allowing the individual the opportunity to succeed through hard work.
ReactionPro® provides each player the chance to adapt the training program to their particular skill set, gradually increasing the intensity and difficulty of the sessions as their abilities improve. Nothing builds self esteem like success.
Cognitive Needs
Changes in life are ongoing and sports are no exception.
Though essentially the same as originally conceived, all athletic activities have evolved to some degree as new ideas are introduced and implemented. Some ideas, such as the introduction of the forward pass in football, are quite dramatic while other more subtle alterations such as the raising or lowering of the mound in baseball, though attracting less attention, result in changes that reverberate throughout the sport for years to come. A common refrain throughout baseball is the accepted thought that there is nothing that can be done about a “bad hop”.
ReactionPro® has chosen to think outside the box when it comes to these seemingly impossible plays, having designed a program to improve a player’s chances of success through targeted productive training.
Aesthetic Needs
All athletes want to look good and nothing looks as good as making that impossible play at a critical time.
Self-Actualization
Few people in our society want to have their efforts scrutinized and critiqued, especially when their best efforts fall short. The resulting damage to an individual’s ego can be devastating. Athletes, on the other hand, put it all on the line for all who want to watch risking criticism and condemnation during their quest for excellence. “The best” is what all athletes search for at all levels, repeatedly taking the field hoping the best is what they’ll have that day. Going on the field “knowing” that they are prepared and ready for whatever comes their way is the best positive thinking available.
ReactionPro® training prepares the athlete for success.
