From my 25 years of International Baseball, I have studied the 16th Century in Japan.
During the 16th Century, the Samurai soldier developed "9 Rules" for preparing for competition.
Today, the "9 rules" are a part of the businessman and athlete's philosophy.
We can apply the "9 rules" to the question "Pro vs. College?"
1. Think of what is right and true.
"Be a realist on one's desires and dreams"
2. Practice and cultivate the science.
"Prepare for the next step". Practice with intelligence and a purpose!
3. Become acquainted with the arts.
"What are the demands of the college and pro coaches". How do I "get the edge"?
4. Know the principle of crafts.
"Know the rules of the professional game and college game".
They are different!
5. Understand the harm and benefit in everything.
"What are the positives and negatives of pro baseball and college baseball"
6. Learn to see everything accurately.
"Look in the mirror as to one's true ability"
7. Become aware of what is not obvious.
"Long road trips or long nights of study". Can I learn to read the bat?
8. Be careful even in small matters.
"Read the college scholarship or the pro contract carefully". What are the cancellation clauses?
9. Do not do anything useless.
"This is social psychology". The group vs. individualism. Who do I want to control my life?
